Jim Carrey Ponders Retirement
Jim Carrey is thinking about retiring after four decades in the limelight.
The 60-year-old funnyman was talking to an American celebrity news outlet on Friday, 1 April, when he confided, “Well, I’m retiring.”
“If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road,” he told them in a “fairly serious” tone.
Carrey’s popularity exploded after starring in a slew of ‘90s comedies such as “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”, “The Mask”, and “Liar Liar”. After 2014’s “Dumber and Dumber To”, he took a break from major film roles before returning to the silver screen in the 2020 film, “Sonic the Hedgehog”.
Now, the comedy legend has taken to spending more time painting than acting in recent years.
“I really like my quiet life, and I really like putting paint on canvas. And I really love my spiritual life … this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists, I have enough,” he said contently.
